Security policyAll information provided by customers is treated as strictly confidential. Our information systems comply with the United Kingdom DTI developed security classification and marking system SEC1. All incoming and outgoing computer data files, whether via portable media or direct connection, are checked using a computer anti-virus system which is itself subject to regular updates. Occasionally a practice may need to send files to us for investigation of a problem or to repair a database. To maintain patient confidentiality we store all patient files on a secure computer system that has limited access. To enable us to comply with the terms of our indemnity insurance we keep copies of all data in the form that they were provided to us together with a copy of any modified data as they were returned to the provider. Any copies of patient data, that may be printed to verify the operation and integrity of the data, are destroyed in a DIN S3 shredder. Additionally all members of staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as any medical practice or hospital in the United Kingdom. |
