Point Prevalence

Point prevalence is defined as the proportion of patients who latest test falls within ±0.5 units of the target INR. The chart below shows the results from practices who have had the occasion to return their database to us.

The British Society of Haematology target for dosing efficiency is 50% of INR tests within 0.5 units of the target INR and from the chart it can be seen that all practices attain this target, with the vast majority exceeding this. The red line represents the median figure of 73.8% with the blue lines representing 1 standard deviation above and below.
